Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What exactly can the Write System program do for me?

A: The Write System is a coaching and mentoring program, designed to assist screenwriters in uncovering their blocks to success, getting clear on their career goals, creating a powerful strategy, learning the insider industry skills that the pros use, and executing their career plan! To do this, we have assembled some of the top career coaches, screenplay consultants, industry executives, screenwriters, and producers to bring their wealth of knowledge, insight and support in service to our members – through one-on-one mentoring, a rigorous career-planning program, regular members-only teleseminars, and a lot more!

Q: Are your mentor’s really working professionals?

A: Yes. We have studio readers, executives, producers, screenwriters, screenplay consultants, and certified life coaches – to help you really put a plan of action together and get results! We also bring in A-list industry pros for special teleseminars. Our aim is to create a diverse pool of mentors to choose from and work with in various capacities, to give you a fully rounded education and support system – unparalleled anywhere else in the industry.

Q: Do I have to sign up for six months or a full year – or can I just attend on a month-to-month basis?

A: You can attend on a month-to-month basis. However, it’s a lot less expensive if you join for a longer period initially. And the truth is, to get the real impact that the program has to offer, you need to stick with it for longer than a month or two. You need to clarify your goals, create a plan, develop your skills, and execute your goals. And that takes time, patience, guidance, and support. That’s what we give you – and much more!

Q: Will I really be able to contact entertainment professionals through your program for mentoring?

A: Absolutely. You’ll be given a mentor or coach to work with on a regular basis. But you’ll also have access via e-mail to other mentors (screenwriters, consultants, execs, producers). The important thing is to not abuse these relationships. These are very busy people and if you bug them with inconsequential questions, or overwhelm them with too many requests, they might be forced to cut you off. The key is to act professional, to do your own work, and to respect the contribution these professionals are making. Who knows, you may develop a long-term contact that could turn into a whole lot more!

Q: What makes The Write System better than others who offer similar programs?

A: As of this writing, there are not other similar programs. Some places offer consulting, others offer mentoring, and still others offer life coaching. But none, to our knowledge, offer all of this and more, using a diverse group of coaches and mentors. And all for a price that barely even covers the costs of the program! Bottom line, we’re committed to offering the very best support and guidance to screenwriters, and helping them succeed! If you know of other programs that you feel offer something better – or you have some ideas you think could improve this program – please feel free to notify us. We’re constantly looking for ways to offer more and better service to our clients.

Q: Does working with The Write System mentors guarantee me a chance to work with them in a professional capacity.

A: This is an educational program. There are no promises of work. Our promise is that we’ll give you all the tools you need to develop a successful career. Nevertheless, that doesn’t mean you won’t develop a relationship with a mentor or another client which becomes a working relationship down the line. That’s really up to you. This town is built on relationships. The key is to think in terms of how you can help others, how you can add real value to their lives – versus only thinking about how they can help you. If you take this attitude and interact with this intention, you may very well develop real, lasting relationships that could blossom into full-blown partnerships.

Q: Can you guarantee that I’ll succeed if I take your program?

A: Boy, do we wish we could! Your success truly is our success. But, unfortunately, nobody can make that kind of guarantee. What we do guarantee is that we’ll give you all the tools, guidance, and support you need to succeed! And we’ll kick your butt if you don’t take action! Okay, we won’t actually inflict any bodily harm, but we will provide plenty of ‘nudges’ to keep you moving along your path to success!
